It contains reports and can write values to servers (in this case to protection devices). When combined with classical testing technology, it offers completely new possibilities in the field of protection testing.
This paper focuses on the main aspects of the standard IEC 61850 and their implementation in a testing solution. It also describes the testing procedure and introduces new opportunities that combine secure and automatic protection and SCADA testing.
