On the 8th of May Austrian´s EMAS exchange took place in Klaus. 26 experts from all across the country met in order to connect and share latest developments, trends and ideas. For OMICRON, matters of sustainability and ecology have always been important, not only regarding the responsibility as a company but also in relation to creating the best workplace for employees.
EMAS means “Eco Management and Audit Scheme” and was introduced in 1993 by the EU as a tool to support companies and organisations in matters of ecological risks and chances. The aim is to evaluate, develop and refine environmental performance. Goals are defined and their realization is validated and verified by certified consultants. OMICRON is EMAS-certified since 2011 and has realized quite a number of different activities ecological mobility by collecting Eco-Miles, cycling contests or a “Mobility Day” as well as choosing materials and resources carefully. Plants grow in and on the company buildings and ecologically tested materials are used wherever possible.
