Release of DANEO Control 6.00 with MBX2

May 29, 2026

A high-performance network analyzer for fully digital IEC 61850 substations

With the release of DANEO Control 6.00, we reach an important milestone in the evolution of our DANEO solution. Besides continued support for the proven DANEO 400, we introduce a new device type: the MBX2. With this addition, we respond to the ongoing transformation toward fully digital substations and the need for advanced testing solutions with significantly higher performance.

While DANEO 400 continues to offer hybrid measurement and communication analysis, MBX2 serves as a network analyzer optimized for digital-only substations. It provides a streamlined approach for measuring and recording signals and network traffic. Together with DANEO Control, MBX2 forms a powerful solution that delivers deep insight into substation communication networks that is essential during testing and troubleshooting.

MBX2 features a high-performance platform and optimized network interfaces that ensure fast, reliable access to IEC 61850 Sampled Values, GOOSE messages, and other substation network communication. Seamless integration with DANEO Control 6.00 enables efficient configuration, flexible live observation, triggered recording, and intuitive analysis. These capabilities help engineers gain clarity and confidence, in even large-scale digital environments.

Key benefits of DANEO Control with MBX2 include:

  • Greater insight into the power system through high-performance measurement of more phasor, RMS, frequency, and harmonics signals.
  • Reliable operation in large digital substations, supporting a higher number of Sampled Value streams for measurement, recording and publishing.
  • Flexible networkintegration thanks to additional ports and SFP transceiver options for copper and fiber connections.
  • A small, portable device that is also suitable for installation with DIN-rail mounting and DC power supply options.
