In March 2019, b2 electronics became part of the OMICRON group. The company, which is based in Klaus in Vorarlberg, Austria, is focused on testing medium-voltage cables. In addition to their head office in Austria, the company has subsidiaries in Germany and India and they employ more than fifty people. b2 still remains an independent brand within the OMICRON group and they operate with their own sales network.
An extended portfolio
In the future, Stefan Baldauf, the co-founder of b2 will manage the company together with Bernhard Baumgartner, who has moved from OMICRON to b2. This step allows OMICRON to extend its portfolio. Bernhard Baumgartner: “Up until now we have not had dedicated solutions for testing medium-voltage cables. This sector will become even more important in the future. The b2 team has proven that they’re able to bring successful technical solutions to the highest levels of the market. We want to continue along this path together.”
