In the fiscal year 2024, the OMICRON Group achieved a sales revenue of 265 million euros, reflecting an increase of over six percent compared to the previous year. Over the past five years, the company's revenue has grown by nearly 70 percent. The company is benefiting from rising investments in the modernization of power grids and the energy transition. Looking ahead, OMICRON is optimistic about future years due to substantial investments in infrastructure and the transformation of global energy systems. Innovation in test technology: the new CMC 500 sets trends in the industry
For around 40 years, OMICRON has been developing test equipment that is used worldwide in substations and for power plant maintenance. With the introduction of the CMC 500, the company has developed a new generation of products. "Our goal was to provide customers with the best possible solution for protection relay testing, which we have achieved with the CMC 500," states Stephan Geiger, Product Manager at OMICRON. The device targets utilities, energy service providers, and industrial companies. It addresses two key industry requirements: enhancing personal safety during electrical system testing and meeting increasing cyber security demands.
Investment in team growth and business infrastructure
The global team now includes 1,300 employees across 23 locations. "Working in a stable and future-oriented industry allows us to offer long-term prospects and secure jobs," says Doris Fisar from OMICRON's Human Resources team. There is a particular demand for specialists in software development and electrical engineering. Parallel to the increase in personnel, OMICRON is investing in the expansion of its corporate infrastructure. A new building is under construction in Rankweil, Austria,that will house b2 electronics, a member of the OMICRON Group. Additionally, workplaces in Klaus and Röthis are being expanded, and international locations in the UK, Bahrain and Australia are being developed.
