Magazine | Issue 1 2018 47 Knowledge sharing is a core principle at OMICRON and our annual UK event is a perfect example of how we strive to connect with our customers. Last year’s event proved to be very popular, focusing on diagnostic measurements of primary assets and welcoming a total of 48 participants from as far afield as Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Korea, and across the UK and Ireland. The event took place from October 17–19, 2017 at Crewe Hall in the midlands, where state-of-the-art conference facilities provided the back drop for a full conference day of in-depth papers delivered by both OMICRON special- ists and industry peers from UK Grid Solutions, ABB, ESB International, SSE, BCDIAGNOSYS and the University of Manchester. The conference covered many aspects of diagnostics on primary assets, including the condition as- sessment of power transformers, DFR tests on transform- ers and bushings, partial discharge on rotating machines and medium and high voltage circuit breaker diagnostics. A day of workshops followed in which delegates could choose to focus on their specific areas of interest. These workshops enabled users to receive hands-on experi- ence with our products and explore the following topics: diagnostic measurements on transformers, diagnostic measurements on rotating machines, diagnostic mea- surements on circuit breakers and partial discharge test- ing and analysis. Participants’ comments were very positive and we plan to repeat this primary focused event in 2019.
