OMICRON Magazine

Magazine | Issue 2 2019 What does OMICRON factory calibration include? Every test set we receive is upgraded to reflect the latest state-of-the-art technical standards. This means that both the firmware and hard- ware are updated to the latest versions, free of charge. The devices are thoroughly tested and repaired if necessary. Finally, they are auto- matically calibrated and adjusted. OMICRON Calibrations services In addition to the factory calibration services listed above, OMICRON Calibrations can also carry out calibrations that conform to ISO 17025. This involves subjecting the results of the factory calibration to further examina- tion by a legally independent body. The cali- brations performed by OMICRON Calibrations are carried out with an even lower level of measurement uncertainty and more closely defined ambient conditions. The competence and procedures behind such measurements are checked regularly by a state-approved body according to standard- ized international criteria. The measurement results are recognized all over the world as a result of international treaties between the accredited bodies. This means that calibrations carried out in our ISO 17025 laboratory in Klaus, Austria, will also be valid and recognized equally in America or Asia. As a manufacturer, we have the additional advantage of being able to repair and adjust the devices as necessary so that their optimum level of accuracy is restored. In addition, at your request we can also carry out an in-depth interpretation of the measurement results and provide estimates that support decision- making around extended calibration intervals. We currently offer ISO 17025 calibrations for the CMC 256, CMC 356, CMC 430, CT Analyzer, and CAL 542 devices. This offer will be updated progressively to include other devices and measurement units. We also work closely with suitable laboratories on calibra- tions that we are currently not able to carry out in-house. The results are then subjected to further examination by us. The Champions League of calibration services The demand for calibrations conforming to ISO 17025 has been steadily increasing over the years. In some countries such calibrations have become the default option. By contrast, conventional ISO 9000 manufacturer calibra- tions are no longer being accepted as much. Our professional services can now cater to this growing demand. In addition, we are also able to offer more specialized and complex measurements such as calibrating devices that generate electrical charges or highly accurate multi-phase line measurements. Meanwhile, our technical expertise for measurements in specific fields has made us a recognized partner for metrology institutes, such as METAS in Bern or MIKES in Finland. Dietmar Gehrmann, Head of OMICRON Calibrations is pleased to report that now we can claim to have “qualified for the Champions League of calibration services.” CONTACT US OMICRON Calibrations Dietmar Gehrmann Oberes Ried 1, 6833 Klaus, Austria +43 59495 2377 calibrations@omicron.at 27
