The size of this interdisciplinary project meant that several different departments and technical sectors at Amprion and TransnetBW, Schluchseewerk AG, OMICRON, and the University of Duisburg-Essen needed to collaborate. Simulation and theory experts, various commercial and legal departments, power plant engineers, network, control, and communications specialists, and grid operation engineers were all involved, not to mention many others. One of the biggest headaches for project management was overseeing the coordination of everyone involved. On our end, it was about logistics, preparation, and equipment configuration. What was required was an unprecedented number of test sets (34 DANEO 400s) and accessories (CMGPS, current clamps, shunts, switches, etc.), in addition to calibrating and testing them. The fact that this was the largest project of this type in Germany became apparent when we had to ensure all the equipment was present – several hundred cables had to be counted and packed. However, our involvement was more than just providing the measurement equipment. Our primary role was supervising and carrying out the measurements in real-time, and, guaranteeing that all the readings were recorded. In addition, we were also responsible for setting up the entire measurement system, including synchronizing the test sets. We also supplied, installed, and tested the central devices and accessories required for the communications Live view of measured values in the DANEO Control «DANEO 400 is a measurement instrument that completely satisfies our requirements. The reliable interaction of all the devices throughout the entire test setup and having the ability to control them all from a single operating station is a significant advantage for us.
