Circuit breaker testing

Our system-based test software RelaySimTest has proven to be ideal for inspecting entire protection systems. It is possible, for example, to check the correct functioning of the protection system of an entire installation during an acceptance test.
Measuring equipment testing
Measuring equipment such as meters, measuring transducers, and power quality measuring instruments can be tested with our CMC test sets. Our CMC 430, for example, is so accurate, that even a class 0.5 meter can be tested without a reference meter.
Power utility communication
Thanks to IEC 61850, digitization has arrived in the energy technology field. Many working methods have also changed as a result of this. Where measurements used to be taken conventionally with a multimeter, you now need a PC or test set that can process the corresponding digital information. We have spent a long time gaining experience with these new technologies and have optimized our test sets and software so that tests can be performed easily and efficiently in the digital world.
Cyber security and functional monitoring in IEC 61850 switchgear installations
Digital threats to critical infrastructure are increasing. Switchgear installations and their – sometimes unprotected – networks are an often ignored point of attack. With StationGuard, OMICRON has developed a totally new security monitoring system (Intrusion Detection System, IDS), to effectively uncover cyber attacks and malfunctions in IEC 61850 switchgear installations.
Should this monitoring process throw up any anomalies, such as unauthorized access or malfunctions in IEC 61850 communications, an alarm can be initiated with a series of follow-up actions. StationGuard can significantly increase security in the installation, yet also requires a minimal investment for setup and technical support.
Not only do we provide suitable training for our test sets and test software, we also offer training in the fundamentals of electrical power technology, such as our "IEC 61850 – Application and Testing" and "Rotating Machine Diagnostics" courses or our "Protection Engineers in the Electrical Power Supply Industry with IHK Certificate" course (IHK = International Chamber of Commerce).
