Voltage Withstand Test - GIS

Voltage withstand test voltages are primarily sinusoidal AC voltages above rated voltage. Originally, this dielectric test was a go/no-go test, where the test object either passed the test or it broke down electrically. Later, more sophisticated diagnostic tools were introduced. Today, the parallel measurement of partial discharges has become an indispensable tool. The voltage withstand test can be performed more safely and more detailed information about the insulation condition can be gathered with a parallel PD measurement.

No draining and refilling

Without draining and refilling insulation gas, the test system can inject the energy required for the test, measure the partial discharges, and determine important parameters, such as the PD inception and extinction voltage.

Testing 145 KV GIS

CP RC components allow to perform voltage withstand tests on GIS with rated voltages of up to 145 kV according to IEC 62271-203. The test system can output test voltages of up to 235 kV. The maximum output voltage can be increased up to 270 kV if two CPC 100 test devices are synched together with the CPC Sync option.

Compact and light weight

The High Voltage Resonance Test System comprises several compact components, all of which weighing below 30 kg, making the system transportable by a single person.
