Introduction to the Most Common Circuit Breaker Measurements
The following interview provides a quick insight into the most important topics related to circuit breaker testing. Siegfried Bernhauser talked with Ari Tirroniemi, one of OMICRON’s circuit breaker experts, about the most common measurements and the necessary tools in order to comprehensively assess the condition of a circuit breaker, with a focus on motion and contact travel measurement.
Ari has studied applied physics and electrical engineering at the Linköping University of Technology, Sweden and has been working for OMICRON for more than 15 years. Ever since 2012, he has been dealing with circuit breaker subjects. Currently he is working as a circuit breaker application engineer. Ari is a member of the Cigré Working Group A3.46 “Generator Circuit-Breakers: Review of application requirements, practices, in-service experience and future trends”.
