Course information

Objectives

  • Perform commissioning, troubleshooting and periodic tests of Power transformers winding and insulation system
  • Intuitive generation of asset-specific test plans, including wiring diagrams
  • Automatic evaluation of results: automated assessments in accordance with industry standards
  • Straightforward reporting and automatic test data synchronization to manage all data on one platform

Content

  • Negative influences on the expected lifetime of a power transformer
  • Overview of frequent defects in transformer components and their fault patterns
  • Construction of the transformer insulation, the bushings and the tap-changer
  • Common conventional measurements such as Turns ratio, Winding resistance, Short-circuit impedance and Demagnetization of the power transformer
  • Capacity and dissipation/power factor measurement of winding and bushing insulation
  • Evaluation of the measurement results by means of practical examples
  • Assessment of diagnostic measurements and recognizing possible defects and influences
  • Analyzing case studies of most common defects on various power transformers
