Tailor-made for substations
We developed the 19-inch RBX1 platform for use in harsh substation environments. In combination with our software, it provides powerful intrusion detection, testing, and measurement functions. The system can operate autonomously without connection to a central server. With built-in cybersecurity features, it stays secure and available under all circumstances. The rack-mountable solution effectively isolates the management network from the vulnerable substation network.
RBX1 represents the robust foundation of our functional security and intrusion detection software StationGuard and our testing solutions StationScout and IEDScout.

Cybersecurity from the ground up
RBX1 is equipped with an ISO/IEC 11889 cryptoprocessor chip. It features Secure and Measured Boot and full-disk encryption. Firmware updates are signed and encrypted. For more details, take a look at the security whitepaper.
9× Gigabit and Fiber Ethernet
Plenty of Gigabit Ethernet connections with SFP modules allow you to connect to multiple separate substation network segments. All ports support hardware timestamping for IEEE 1588 PTP and precise packet timing measurements.
Unmatched performance
4 CPU cores, 450 GB storage, 16 GB RAM: All critical events are reliably recorded on the encrypted hard disk. The processor provides you with the power needed for digital substation applications. Thanks to the ECC memory, the highest level of resilience is assured.
Extremely robust and fan-less
The 19-inch platform is passively cooled and does not contain any moving parts. It still supports a wide temperature range for operation. RBX1 complies with IEEE 1613 and IEC 61850-3 ed.2 and has been tested rigorously by external testing and certification labs.
Flexible power supply
Choose between 48–60 V DC or 100–240 V AC/DC power supply options. Both variants are available with a redundant power supply.
Binary IOs and Watchdog contact
The binary inputs and outputs are designed to interface with other intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) for easy and secure signaling. Hardware failures are reported immediately via the fault contact (Watchdog contact).

StationGuard
Combines cybersecurity and functional monitoring in substations. With this Intrusion Detection System, you can identify cyber threats, prohibited activities, and various malfunctions in the substation automation system (SAS).
StationScout
Lets you reliably simulate and test your SAS with automated test plans. It visualizes the status of the entire system, precisely detects problems, and lets you trace signals.
IEDScout
Gain detailed insight into the IEC 61850 functions of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). IEDScout visualizes their data objects and attributes, and observes communication activities precisely.
