Essential Insights: The Basics of Rotating Machine Testing
May 31, 2026
We’re happy to announce the release of ARCO Control 1.70, ReCoPlan 2.70, and BOB2 Configurator 1.20. The new versions introduce enhanced logic testing capabilities, simplified BOB2 integration, and workflow improvements that make recloser testing more flexible and efficient. In addition, this release extends the ARCO 400’s testing capabilities to other distribution grid controllers, such as voltage and capacitor bank controllers.
The Sequencer test tool now supports additional trigger and output options, manual control of binary outputs, and testing of 52a/52b contact mismatch conditions. These enhancements provide greater flexibility for advanced logic and functional testing.
A new export function in BOB2 Configurator allows customized BOB2 configurations to be imported directly into ReCoPlan. ARCO Control also introduces test plan search and interactive Binary IN/OUT checks, helping users save time during setup and testing.
The release adds configurable timing thresholds for single-phase operated reclosers, support for additional harmonics, ground fault simulation without zero-sequence components, and zero-sequence vector displays in the Direct test tool. In addition, several usability and workflow enhancements help users work more efficiently and further improve productivity.
