The Smart System for Checking Polarity and Wiring
The CPOL3 detects the polarity in instrument transformer circuits using a DC-free sawtooth signal. This signal can be generated by one of our test sets, such as the COMPANO 100, CMC 500, or CPX 200.
This method works on both the primary and secondary sides of instrument transformers and avoids saturation effects. Additionally, it allows you to measure True RMS voltages or currents using a current clamp. An integrated oscilloscope-like mode visualizes signal waveforms. Selectable low input impedance reduces interference effects in complex environments.
In combination with the CMC 500 and CMC Swift, it supports convenient phase identification in three-phase setups

Combine Several Aspects of a Wiring Test
Use the CPOL3 with one of our test sets to efficiently combine multiple wiring tests. The test set injects a sawtooth signal into the primary or secondary side of the CT or VT. The CPOL3 displays a green face for correct polarity and a red face for reverse polarity. Incorrect polarity is also displayed as an inverted signal in oscilloscope-like mode.
The CPOL3 also displays the measured voltage. The closer the measurement is to the burden, the lower the loop impedance and displayed voltage are. As a result, you can easily check the terminal assignment by comparing the voltage and roughly determining the burden.
