GOOSE in IEC 61850 Environments

Time sensitive information such as protection tripping commands are a high priority and therefore require a rapid means of communication. In IEC 61850 environments, the GOOSEs (Generic Object Oriented Substation Events) are the mechanism for distributing status information. They are published as multicast messages without being addressed to a specific receiver. This information is then distributed across the network allowing any IED or test set to retrieve it. Since we are a technological leader in this field and a driving force within the various groups that work with IEC 61850, we have a significant influence on standardization activities and continue to provide you with our innovative testing solutions.
