Reflection of real fault conditions

Measuring the ground impedance of large ground grids requires the injection of test current via a power line in order to reflect real fault conditions. This allows true test values to be determined.

Fall-of-Potential measurement

It is crucial to be able to take an isolated measurement of the voltage rise, according to EN 50522 and IEEE 81, which is caused by the test current and not by any other current in the ground.

Variable frequency

With the CPC 100 + CP CU1 you can vary the frequency and inject current at non-network frequencies into the soil via the existing power lines. The system then selectively measures the voltage rise at the frequencies being used.

High level of safety

To protect you and your equipment, the CP CU1 comes with the CP GB1 grounding unit. This unit can divert currents of up to 30 kA if its voltage limit value is exceeded due to unexpected induced potentials on adjacent lines.
